*PSST..YOU HEARD IT HERE, FIRST!!
The Cartoon Art Museum is thrilled to announce its Third Annual Fundraiser with Pixar Animation Studios surveying Twenty Years Behind the Scenes of Pixar’s creations on Saturday, February 25th, 2006. We are offering pre-sale tickets to our past attendees for first crack at the latest from these animated geniuses.
As before the event starts at 6pm, gates will open at 5:30pm, with tantalizing hors d’oeuvres and appetizers in the atrium of the Pixar Animation Campus in Emeryville. In addition to the treats, guests can view original artwork by Pixar employees as well as pre-production work from their latest adventure. Last years additions included a story-board corner and the infamous online store only available directly at their campus. At 7pm the presentation will start in Pixar’s state of the art 240-seat theater with a new line up of guest speakers followed by coffee, desserts and a bit mingling with the Pixarians.
THIS EVENT IS ALWAYS A SELL-OUT. FOLKS COME IN FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY FOR IT, SO IF YOU WANNA GO, ACT FAST!! GO TO WWW.CARTOONART.ORG FOR MORE DETAILS!!
*EMAIL OF THE WEEK…
hey keith,
it’s taken a bit of time, but i finally need to respond to the toon
about the two diners here in cleveland
we were somewhat mortified to read it
no one here in the office goes in there anymore, since a friend of ours
sold it some time ago
tho one of my office mates had an eerily similar experience a few
months ago stopping in on a whim (she a white jewish woman and her
black musician partner and their 10 year old son)
“it was creepy,” said she
we showed your toon to our friend, the original owner, who had
previously claimed the place was cursed
this seems to have confirmed it for him
i’m sorry that this is the sort of lasting impression cleveland may
have on you…we struggle with our city on so many levels
i guess i just had to share that
regards,
s. in cleveland
