*PACIFIC NORTHWEST POST…
Man..I gotta say it’s cold up here. I prefer the non-stop, windy-assed rain over the clear, freezing cold-ass days.

Hey…So’s I’m up here in Seattle to my world famous slideshow at the Richard Hugo House in the Capitol Hill district.
The show went off without a hitch last night, despite a bit o’ drama with the laptop/powerpoint thing earlier in the day. An enthused audience that included me Mum and brother-in-law asked great questions, and laughed when they were supposed to. Good for you. Checks are in the mail.

Sold a lotta books and calendar and bags. Had a great time.

Steve “Bob the Angry Flower” Notley was in the house last night. I’ll be hanging with him at his job this afternoon. They serve beer every Friday. We’re also hitting the Pacific Northwest’s Cartoonists Meeting this weekend.

Shout-out to Michael “$30 Writing/Film/Music School” Dean, whose sister was in the house last night. Michael…I’ll talk to you soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The after-party at my evil twin sister’s T(ea) Gallery was neato too. This was my first time visiting since she opened the shop and I must say I’m quite proud of her. The place is super, super nice, despite having all my art work splattered across the walls. We had beer, wine, pineapple and (of course) tea..

We had such a good time that WE’RE DOING IT AGAIN!! COME ON BY MY EVIL TWIN SISTER’S T(EA) GALLERY ON SAT. NOV 18TH FROM 6PM-8PM FOR ART, BEER, WINE, TEA AND FOOLISHNESS. The address is:
2707 California Avenue, SW
Second Floor
West Seattle’s Admiral District

*EMAIL OF THE WEEK..

Keith,

I was prompted to write tonight because I brought up your two sandbox toons in a conversation about our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. After looking them up so I could show them to my conversational partner, I was rather amazed to see that the first one was within the first week after 9/11 and the second was well before the invasion of Iraq. Anyway, I’m not exactly sure what my point is, except to say that those two toons made me follow your strip much more closely than I might have (I remain a fan) and that I congratulate you post facto on both your prescience and your courage. What’s life like in the sandbox now, I wonder?

Yours sincerely,

R.,
Portland, OR

*IT’S LIKE CHRISTMAS, KWANZAA, AND HANNUKAH ALL MIXED TOGETHER!!

Can you believe it?!! Finally, our government is back to CHECKS and BALANCES!! If winning re-election by 1% was a mandate for Mr. Bush, I wonder what message he is getting from THESE results..

Despite screwy machines..despite screwy political tactics…

Santorum gone!!
Rumsfeld resigns!!
Federline gone!!

EVERYBODY..STAY OUT OF CHENEY’S WAY FOR THE NEXT COUPLA DAYS…

By the way..This is the BEST day to listen to Rush, Hannity, Savage and all those other “lone voices” going up against the liberal media..

So much good stuff…

Go see Borat. Ees good, yes?

*YES..I’M LATE POSTING AGAIN..BUT FOR GOOD REASON..

THE PNEUMONIA IS BACK!! And it totally sucks. I just spent an hour writing this huge post about Stumptown in Portland, crappy evil race-baiting Republican ads in Tennessee, and some recommendations for California voters. But then I LOST IT through some internet shenanigans. Lame.

So I’ll say it real quick:

*Portland was great. Stumptown, not so much…
*People in Tennessee should vote for Harold Ford Jr.
*Californians should vote NO on Prop 85 and YES on Prop 87
(Below is a breakdown of the Props by my official Nor-Cal fan-boy Dave S.

PROPOSITION 85: The Dead Teenager Act?!?!??! AGAIN?!?!?!?!

NO NO NO NO NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!! What is it with you? You ran the same stinking bill last November! You think I’m stupid? You think I can’t remember? You think I’m a ditto-head? Ooo, dat puddy tat, he never give up! I HEREBY STUFF THE PEOPLE WHO PUT THIS ON THE BALLOT AGAIN INTO MY OFFICAL CAN OF NUTS!

Stop it, Sylvester! Making it illegal for a teen girl to get a legal abortion without parental notification almost sounds logical. Until you think about it for more than a nanosecond. If you raise your daughter well, and love her unconditionally, she will know that she can come to you if she makes a mistake (even a really big one). But there are homes where she will get thrown out into the streets, or beaten, or beaten and tossed, or killed, or killed and tossed, if she made that same mistake. Teens who have a good home life don’t need this kind of protection. Teens who haven’t don’t need this invitation to a grimy back alley to get reamed out with a rusty coat hanger. KNOCK IT OFF!!!

PROPOSITION 87: Charge Oil-Drilling Fees, Like They Do Everywhere Else

YES. Chevron is pumping millions into ads against this. It’s not like we are asking oil companies to pay fees they don’t already pay (even in Texas). Chevron, you have had it way too easy way too long in this supposedly liberal state!

Sure, it might not be perfect. No money goes to education, for example. Some goes onto alternative energy programs where some money will go to good use, other money will go to waste. (Ethanol is not the greatest car fuel in the world; see a recent Consumer Reports.) But first we gotta get the money into the pot. Money we are owed. No more Chevron stiffies! (Heh heh, he said stiffie again, heh heh heh! Stiffies are cool!)

Cheers!
