*THE RETURN OF “GRAVESTONES AND NIGHTSTICKS”..
I got a lot of mail asking what I would do in response to another incident of cops killing unarmed Black folk. Honestly, after 14 years of comix, I’m sick of trying to come up with ANOTHER “clever”comic about it. So I brought back an oldie but goodie and put a new spin on it. Kind of the way they revive plays on Broadway, no?

*”ARE WE FEELING SAFER YET?” BOOK RELEASE PARTY..
..is gonna be Sat. Jan. 13, 6pm at the Cartoon Art Museum (655 Mission St.) in San Francisco. Expect surprise guests and foolishness. But also expect a lot of free and cheap K Chronicles Krappe for sale cuz I’m clearing stuff out for 2007. Why? Oh, you’ll see….

*EMAIL OF THE WEEK…

>Hey Keith,
>First off, I have always enjoyed your strip in the
>Salt Lake City Weekly. It is the first thing I
>turn to each week (especially cuz it’s always next
>to the escort/hoochie ads page). You always write
>what I thinkin except you make with the funny.
>Anyhoo, thanks for the entertainment/nuggets to
>think about.
>
>Anyway my LLV. I fully enjoy my chile relleno
>burritos from time to time. I go into a burrito
>fueled hypnotic trance. So much so that I just
>dive right in even before I get home. My victory
>comes when the burrito (I’ll be honest, I’m one
>with a panda bear form so this has happened with
>foods from many o snack shack) spunks cheese all
>out the bottom. Of course in horror I look down,
>luckily every so often the seat belt catches the
>whole glop. My shirt escapes a burrito stain and
>being sentenced to a life of being an undershirt.
>
>Thanks again.
>C.

*MY OLD COLLEGE ROOMMATE WAS A ZAMBONI DRIVER IN “HIGH” SCHOOL, SO THE STORY BELOW DOESN’T SURPRISE ME…

(From The Associated Press)

Two employees of a city ice-skating rink in Boise, Idaho, have been fired for making a midnight fast-food run in a pair of Zambonis.

The ice-resurfacing machines, with a top speed of about 5 mph, were seen chugging through a Burger King drive-through recently.

The Zamboni operators, temporary city employees, had to drive through at least one intersection with a traffic light on their 1½-mile trip. A city spokesman said neither of the $75,000 Zambonis nor their $10,000 blades appeared damaged.

*AND THIS IS A STORY FOR ALL YOU EDITORS WHO WON’T RUN MY STUFF WEEK-TO-WEEK BECAUSE OF PARTICULAR CONTENT..

A gun-wielding cartoonist dressed in camouflage entered The Miami Herald’s building and demanded to speak with an editor Friday, prompting an evacuation of employees, police said.

No injuries were immediately reported. Miami police spokesman Delrish Moss said authorities believed the man was isolated on the sixth floor of the downtown Miami building that houses The Miami Herald and its Spanish-language publication El Nuevo Herald.

Officers carrying weapons and wearing protective gear set up a perimeter around the building, and about 60 people were gathered outside.

Moss said the man, dressed in camouflage, entered the front door with a gun and demanded to speak with an editor. El Nuevo Herald’s employees work mostly on the sixth floor.

“He’s a freelance cartoonist that says he’s been censored by the Herald,” Moss said of the gunman.

*SEATTLE WRAP-UP..
Twas a great trip up North. Thanks to the CD Forum..Also Mike and Tiffany in Tacoma. Shout out to Steve Notley and the folks at Popcap.

My sis sez it was her busiest weekend since opening in June. You really should check out her T(ea) Gallery when you’re in Seattle. It’s the best place to pick up Keef Knight merchandise (other than this site).

*FIRST REVIEW OF “ARE WE FEELING SAFER YET?”

“Keith Knight is a funny guy, but he’s astute like a good editorial cartoonist should be. What Knight says with pen and ink makes sense, and he’s ready for the big time.” -ComicBookBin.com

*BOND IS (FINALLY) BACK!!
Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Sean. Finally, a Bond who looks like he can really kick somebody’s ass. There’s so much in “Casino Royale” that is un-Bond-movie-like, and it’s a great thing. Not a lotta gadgets. No crappy ending where there’s a thousand people fighting, whilst Bond chases the head Bad-guy. There ain’t even any nekkid ladies in the opening montage. Quite refreshing.

*SERIOUSLY..YOU SHOULD GIVE ENERGY STAR LIGHT BULBS FOR THE HOLIDAZE..(and the 2007 Life’s Little Vics and more calendar!!)

*WHAT THE EFF IS UP WITH MICHAEL “KRAMER” RICHARDS?!!

Cheers!! And Happy eating…
