*K CHRONICLES/L.A. MOVE SHOCKER!!
Yes, the rumors are true…After 16 years, I am leaving the Bay Area. We’re receiving a TON of emails from folks down in Los Angeles, offering advice on neighborhoods and such. We know the eastside is great, but there is a job opportunity for the wifey in Culver City, so we’re lookin’ out there. The less driving we gotta do the better.

*WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?
It means I need to get rid of a ton of Krappe. I need cash for the move. Cold hard cash. So my upcoming book release party at the Cartoon Art Museum (655 Mission St. San Francisco) on Saturday, Jan 13th is gonna be a BLOW-OUT!! Books, original art, prints, bags, posters, CDs, mugs will be CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!! And there’ll be plenty of free shite too… IF YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT COMING TO ONE OF MY EVENTS, IT’S THIS ONE…

*THE COUP FUNDRAISER CONTINUES…
I’m drawing a lotta people and their pets this week…Remember: I’ll draw anything on an 81/2 by 11 piece o’ bristol for $100 and I’ll send you a print of any comic for $50 and I’ll donate half to Hip-Hop group the Coup.

*THERE’LL BE A LOT MORE TO REVEAL IN 2007…YOU’LL SEE…

*GO SEE “CHILDREN OF MEN” YOU FOOLS!!

*EMAIL OF THE WEEK…

Keef,

I just received my original Little Victory, and it is astonishing! My
wife will cry (in a good way). Thank you very much, and very best
wishes to you and yours for the holidays and beyond.

–D.

*ALFONSO CUARON IS MY NEW FAVORITE DIRECTOR..
I loved “Y Tu Mama Tambien”..And his Harry Potter movie is the only one I’d recommend seeing (“Prisoner of Ass-kaban”)..but his latest film, “Children of Men” is THE SCHEISSE (really good).

It is straight up the scariest flick I’ve seen in a long time. Don’t read about it..just go.

Happy New Kwanzaa Year!!

*JIMINY CRICKETS!!
Thanks for the great response to my S.O.S Coup/ReCoup comic. I’ve got a lotta great orders and requests. Including sexy drawings of kinky girlfriends and Bush and Cheney in a compromising position.

$100 and I’ll draw anything on an 8’n’a half by 11 piece o’ bristol. $50 for a signed and doodled print of any comic. 50% of the proceeds goes to the Coup. Keep those orders coming!!

*END OF THE YEAR RECAP..
Yeah..I forgot that this was the last week of the year!! It’s been a super crazy one what with the Wifey gettin’ real sick and all. The showering of good wishes from you all was amazing..Something we’ll never forget. Sadly, I lost a ton of those emails cuz of a crash a few months back.

I also caught pneumonia for my 40th birthday. Right when I premiered my theatre slideshow piece for San Francisco’s AfroSolo Fest. I managed only one performance, then had to go to the hospital.

But there were tons of positives…Some great convention experiences. An amazing trip back to New Orleans (which is still in ruins..eff u Mr. Bush!!) Mushroom picking in Germany. The opening of my “evil” twin sister’s T(ea) Gallery. Slideshows in Columbus, Seattle, Olympia, Tacoma, Austin, Portland, New Orleans and Tuebingen, Germany!! Whoo!! Plus great trips to NYC, Massachusetts, Vegas, eL Ay..and so much more.

Thanks to all the newspapers, magazines, editors, colleges, art schools and readers for supporting me over the past year. Hope you stick around for what comes next.

My Wish List for 2007:
*good health
*A new book deal
*A myspace intern
*Film/T.V. development deal
*Syndication!!
*A trip to some place I ain’t never been
(not necessarily in that order)

Happy 2007!!

*WENT TO SEE A CONCERT LAST WEEK..
Public Enemy and X-clan!! These two groups are from hip-hop’s “Golden Age”, the late eighties, who along with groups like Brand Nubian, De La Soul, Tribe, and KRS-One, made my time in college special… *sigh*..Twas a wonderful time..

Anyhoo..this was the first time in seven years that P.E. had their full line-up. Chuck, Flav, Griff and the S1Ws..The only original member who wasn’t there was Terminator X, but the fill-in D.J. Lord backed up nicely along with a full band!!

It was great..I saw a lot of good folks I hadn’t seen in a while. Leroy Moore, Kevvy Kev, Davey D..it was like a Bay Area who’s who of Hip-Hop night.

P.E. tour it up for the first hour, smashing through with some of their greatest hits “Shut ’em Down”, “Welcome to the Terrordome”, “Rebel Without a Pause”..but what really stood out was “Son of a Bush”..It kicked ass.

Then the set got bogged down. Flav was thankin’ folks for supporting the band..but then he thanked everyone for supporting his VH-1 show. A bunch of us started booing, which gave me hope for this world. Then he did a really bad version of “911 is a Joke”. He basically raps over his own vocals on the track and he doesn’t do it very well. But I guess it was better than when I saw him drop the mic at the Fillmore and his vocal track was revealed to all.

We didn’t wait around for the band to come back out and end the show with “Brother’s Gonna Work it Out” and “Fight the Power”…But it was still a good show.

*I KNOW I’M GOING WAAAY BACK WITH THIS, BUT…
The Las Vegas First Friday event was great considering it was 29 degrees and we had to stand outside for five hours selling stuff. The event has gone from a cluster of galleries with a table or two outside to a multi-block event with several stages and events, food booths and over a hundred artists. It was incredible. And I wanna thank the folks who drove all the way from Barstow to meet me. Come back and see me when I return in the spring!!

*REMEMBER:
I’ve lost all my email addresses, so if you haven’t sent me an email in a while, please do, so I can add you again.

Happy Hollandaise!!
