Here’s the latest newsletter if you’re not on my mailing list.

IN THIS ISSUE:
*K CHRONICLES LEAVES SALON/NOW AT TONIC.COM!
*THE ALL-NEW K CHRONICLES.COM!!
*KEEF DOING EMERALD CITY CON (SEATTLE)/WONDERCON (SAN FRANCISCO)
*KEEF NOMINATED FOR GLYPH AWARD

Dearest K Chronicles/(th)ink/Knight Life Readers,

Hope you’re faring better now that the new year is in full swing!! I thank everyone who
has donated  and purchased stuff over the past year.  A year where I lost more than a few
newspapers and websites, thanks to the recession and the reality of the new world.

But things are looking up. I’ve picked up a few new things.  Working on some big
projects.  Plus  I just did my world-famous slideshow at Google Headquarters last week,
and if I had read the nondisclosure agreement I signed when I checked in, I would do a comic about it.
I’ll check to see if I can.

In the meantime, big news:

*K CHRONICLES LEAVES SALON.COM/NOW AT TONIC.COM!!
They say all good things come to an end. But they didn’t say anything about
what appears to be a good thing, but then turns out to be a bad thing—So
I finally walked away from Salon after more than a decade on their site.
I did not get fired.  I left because it was apparent they didn’t value my work as much as
others on their.  Someday the story will be told, but right now:

*THE K CHRONICLES LANDS AT TONIC.COM!!
Tonic’s running the K Chronicles on a trial basis–go over there and show ’em some love..
GO TO http://www.tonic.com On the home page click on “Programming”, click on K
Chronicles. Rate it. Love it.
*THE ALL-NEW KCHRONICLES.COM!!
Yes!  The Wifey has revamped ye olde website to allow users to interact like crazy!  Post
comments and rates strips!!  Post yer own little victories!  Click on the button and
purchase a print of yer favorite K Chronicles or (th)ink strip!!  Jump on over to the
Knight Life site for your daily dose.  So much goodness–and a lot more stuff to come
(including a full archive!!)

I’m very excited about the new site–and hope to build it into an online community for
all my various projects, including music, T.V. and film.  Visit often, donate , AND PLEASE SPREAD
THE WORD!!

https://kchronicles.com

*KEEF COMING TO SEATTLE AND SAN FRANCISCO!!
I’ll be up Seattle for the Emerald City Con March 13-14 at the Washington State
Convention Center.  It’s a great Con where you’ll find a ton of webcartoonists
who don’t get out too often (and Leonard Nimoy).  Git yer ass there.

Then I’ll be doing Wondercon in San Francisco on Easter weekend (first weekEND in April,
2-4).  I’ll be part of an exhibit opening at the San Francisco Main Library featuring
myself, Darrin Bell, Morrie Turner, Jerry Craft and plenty more great cartoonists.

*KNIGHT LIFE AND K CHRONICLES NOMINATED FOR BEST COMIC STRIP!!
Two of my strips have been nominated for the Glyph Award for Best Comic Strip, including
my somewhat new daily!!  It’s nice to see both strips nominated, but I’m pushing to see
the Knight Life get a little love.  We’ll see May 15th!!

http://www.knightlifecomic.com

Hey!! Do you know of a paper, magazine or website that one or all of my strips should be
in?  Email me the info at keef@kchronicles.com!!

P.S. Feel free to let Salon know how you feel–JUST BE NICE.

Cheers!!

*KEEF COMES TO GOOGLE!!

Hey!  Tell all yer cool friends who work at Google that Keith Knight is coming to take their $$$ and eat in their great cafeteria I keep reading about.  It’s true!!  I’ve been invited to do my world famous slideshow at the Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA on Monday at 11am!!  Then we’re off to San Francisco for a little celebratin’..seeing as it’s the wifey’s birthday!!

*THIS WEEK’S STRIPS

the K Chronicles: I haven’t done much about the Unbearable Cuteness of Being, so I went and done did.  What’s nice about this is he can look back on all this stuff and have a record of how he drove his parents crazy.

son & pop

Beware!! The Devil-baby!!

(th)ink: Continuing the Black Her-Story Month series.  Inspired by Morrie Turner’s Soul Sistahs!! (th)ink will be posting on Thursday night Friday morn, whilst the K Chronicles will go up every Tuesday.

*THE GLYPH AWARDS

– “We’ve been doing the GCAs for five years now, and I’ve seen many different creators nominated for all sorts of comics. The one constant throughout it all has been Keith Knight and The K Chronicles. Fifth straight nomination, three consecutive wins. Seven lifetime noms for Keef. That’s respect, folks.” -Rich Watson, creator of the Glyph Awards

Wow!  Just found out I’ve been nominated for another Glyph this year, with the K Chronicles being nominated for a fifth straight time and the Knight Life (my daily) being nominated for the first time.

The Glyph Comics Awards recognize the best in comics made by, for, and about people of color from the preceding calendar year.

*LETTERS/EMAILS OF THE WEEK

I’ve received a lot of spectacular feedback re: the Howard Zinn K Chronicles.  I’ve posted a couple below.-kk

Dear Sir (I must speak with respect):

I have loved your comics for many years, but this one kind of outdid anything
I have seen so far.

A number of years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Zinn, but was unable to do so. The chance will never be revisited. It gave me some comfort
to know that other people feel about Dr. Zinn the way I do.

Thank you for honoring him in your strip, and thank you for doing the strip.

J., Salt Lake City

Dear Keith,

What a terrific comic strip on Howard. Thank you so much. He would’ve loved it. I was one of the countless people who considered Howard a close friend–we worked together for the last six years on his film The People Speak and on our project Voices of a People’s History of the United States. He was very, very funny and he would’ve loved this.

Cheers,

B. Brooklyn, NY

and, re: the K Chronicles sled strip:

Hey keef,

Just read your sled cartoon in the funny times. I actually know the real “agony of
defeat” guy, and it ain’t you! His name is Jim “Moose” Barrows and he lives here in
Steamboat Springs, CO. He told me he didn’t actually feel that much agony.

He’s such a show-off…

As always, I enjoy your goofy self.

P.

Hey, folks!!

Welcome to the all-new K Chronicles.com, where you’ll find everything to do with the K Chronicles and (th)ink. We actually threw this up a little quicker then expected because I wanted to get the Howard Zinn strip up.  There are more than a few glitches and links that go nowhere.  We are working on them and hope to have ’em fixed soon.

In the meantime, read, comment and enjoy!!
