I am writing to you from the east side of the country. From the joyful little burg of Chapel Hill, NC. I had talked a long time about moving, and we finally found an area that was affordable, close to family, not too harsh weather-wise, and had enough going on (the Triangle of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill-Carrboro have a great arts/music and food scene) that I wouldn’t go nuts.
So far everything’s been great except the insects.
You will be hearing more about the move and the new town in future posts and comics. If you’re in the area, come say hello at Cafe Driade in Chapel Hill, or the Weaver Street Market in Carrboro, which are the 2 places I do most of my drawing these days.

I will continue to pursue projects in La-la land, but have established enough contacts that I do not have to be there full-time to make it work. Plus, a HUGE project dropped onto my lap that I jumped all over.. in order to finish it, I need to be holed up in a quieter place with fewer distractions..

Now that I’m on the east coast, you’ll be seeing a lot more of me at shows in NYC, Boston and the like. Our nation’s capitol looms large for me in September as I will be interviewed onstage by the Washington Post about my police brutality slideshow at the national book festival on Sat. Sept 5th. I am hoping and praying I’ll have a collection of my police brutality cartoons by then.

Profuse apologies to those who have ordered stuff during my pre-moving sale, and have yet to receive it…Moving from coast to coast with two little ones was even more taxing than I could ever imagine. At this point, I still have product and art sitting in boxes in my new garage and would-be office. I am doing my darnedest to fill out the backlogged orders.
