I love your comics, I’ve been reading them in the funny times since I was 15. I got my dad one of your books for Christmas, because he loves your strips too.
Just wanted to share a kind of humorous story- when I was in 10th grade in Athens, GA, we had to do a report on a historic black person for a class contest. Most people chose someone legendary, like Harriet Tubman, or someone epic, like Jimi Hendrix. Me, I chose you. It was my dad’s suggestion, and after reading some of your stuff, I loved the idea. I wrote an original biographical paper, based on what I could find online, and the stories in your comic strips. I thought it was an awesome paper. We had to present our papers in front of the class. Mine was met with dead silence. Apparently most 15 year olds don’t really “get” you. Obviously, I didn’t win the contest. I got a C, based on the fact that “while a well written paper and an interesting presentation, this is NOT school appropriate.” Um. Ok… The real kick in the balls though was the fact that the contest winner had written her paper on Shel Silverstein. Who is not black. Like, at all.
Anyways, love you, love the strips, can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
For my part, I’m about as black as, well, Shel Silverstein. I wandered in here through somebody-or-other’s link, and kept reading because Keef Does Great Comics!

Wow! I’m honored! And what a great story!
I may try to work it into a strip in some way. Maybe the Knight Life. We’ll see..
Thanks!
That would be awesome! I would feel famous.
And I think you are a TOTALLY relevant part of black history. And also non-race specific history.
Yay Meagan, boo dimwitted contest managers!
