Its been fun till now with most games very entertaining, some surprises (England and Spain!!! already out) and some duds (I am looking at you, Japan vs Greece).
I will never get my head around the fact that this game is considered boring, when Baseball is popular (now theres a snorefest!).
Doesn’t the teamwork and fair play of the American team (and that they’ve made it to the second round) make you (sorta) proud to be American? If not, why not? At least they don’t bite!
USA plays Belgium today. Be there or be square (by that I don’t mean necessarily in Brazil, but just in spirit on the tv of your choice). I think our boys need to learn that the game isn’t supposed to be a contact sport, though…
The dream is over (sniff), but our boys made a valiant effort and played clean. They went out with honor. And you can’t say that very often about America these days. If only international relations could be like the World Cup, with the Great Referee in the Sky making sure everything is fair and square… A great comic, Keith. Your observations on sport are always spot on.
Ah, well. No further comments. I guess the Americans aren’t to be inconvenienced after all… (Or, is it that the USA only takes an interest in something unless they think they stand a hope in Hell’s chance of being top dog?)
Great World Cup! Now FiFA better get their act together re: concussions..
I have now officially retired the World Cup strip. It doesn’t ring true anymore….
The U S of A will enjoy it more if they start to win! Go, America. Join the party!
Yawn…
More circus to keep the sheeple mollified.
90 minutes of kicking…and it doesn’t even work! (Looking at you, Mexico – Brazil). Meh…give me playoff hockey overtime, where it’s score or die.

@Truth – I wouldn’t trust Jermaine Jones to not bite – he is a real mean one, really!
Better tell ole JJ we’re keeping tabs on him. We don’t want any red cards out there…
