…but then there’s folks who are eager to “help” you whether you want it or not, and whether or not they’re actually competent do do so.I’ve heard that called “hlepfulness” (note twisted spelling) or “helpiness” (compare to “truthiness”). I don’t think that really ought to be encouraged!
I mean, really — it’s one thing to ask someone “hey, do you need to cross the street?”, but dragging them away without asking is not so cool. (And I’ve long since heard jokes about the same issue with “little old ladies”.) Not to mention, bundling someone off to another location can also be the prelude to robbing them or worse….
Keef, while often we can just laugh at how bloody funny you are, your ability to observe the human condition makes us appreciate you that much more.
That is a wonderful story. It saddens me but I don’t think he would get that kind of help from strangers here in the US.
