Yep, it was a Freudian slip of mountainous proportions when Bush said that. FOR HIM, Kanye dissing him was the worst thing in his two terms. I think the rest of us would pick 9/11, but we didn’t get a 40-point approval rating bump and carte blanche to go wild on the rest of the world from that horrible day.
It’s really satisfying to see someone drawing on the comic page who is not afraid of controversy…and this one is another in a big series which is “right on” (gave away my age, didn’t I?). We need you, Keef. Keep putting reality in context.
Hey, I’m not the kind of person to defend the Republicans, but isn’t it only normal for the opposition party to want to take back the presidency? After all, if there was a Republican president, you’d expect the Democrats to say that they want to replace him in the next elections.
@stephan
Not at the expense of having a functioning govt., and to date, that’s not been the case with the GOP. They’re mission has been to “get Obama” regardless of real-people suffering. Of course with their wallets, they don’t have to worry about suffering.
Using the quarterback analogy, if you have a quarterback that was put into the position that is a TERRIBLE quarterback, you want to remove him as quickly as possible. If he throws an interception for a pick six on the first play. You shake your head, regroup, and come together as a team. If he throws five more pick six’s and you go over to him on the sidelines and ask, “have you thought about throwing it to OUR team?” and his response is, “But I think that our team has been too dominant and it’s only fair if we lose. I am doing this on purpose, and I intend to do it on purpose, even if it causes our team to lose”.
At that point, you might say, “We have gotten ourselves into this hole, and the ONLY way we can get out is by getting a different quarterback.”
I am sure that he is a nice guy. I am sure that he is probably even a good father. However, he is the least competent, least experienced, and least WILLING to learn President in history. He not only makes mistakes, but he makes them on purpose, and thwarts others from stopping his mistakes from being enacted.
He not only has failed, he has done so on purpose, and continues to do so.
I call B*LLSH*T on your analysis of Obama. He’s bent over backwards to try to work with the opposition. The Republicans in Congress have made governing impossible – in all my life (51 years) I have never witnessed a congress where a filibuster-proof majority is necessary to get even the most common-sense legislation through – even bills like SALT which are vitally necessary to national security and which have – or WOULD have – bipartisan support are being blocked for the purpose of making sure that Obama gets NO legacy, NO positive press, NO accomplishments.
Obama is not a bad president, especially when you compare him to his predecessor, who is generally considered to be one of, if not THE WORST president in US history. Compare him to His Holiness The Senile Ronald Reagan, or to others, he’s not too shabby. Hey, I consider that he’s missed the Greatness Train, but he’s not doing all that badly to be pushed against PURELY for political reasons. In this country we have become so good at politics, we’ve forgotten how to govern.
You need to listen less to Fox Propaganda Network and look at things in a little more context. If consensus on real issues could be met by both parties between elections, rather than making your party agenda in Congress completely on the basis of the next election, don’tcha think that the people that the government is meant to serve MIGHT benefit?
@JEDraft – in 51 years I find it hard to believe that you still can’t add, the so called opposition (Republicans) couldn’t stop any bill from being passed even if they wanted to. They had no input, and no say, they weren’t allowed to amend bills or provide alternatives.
It was a simple matter of “NUMBERS” with a majority in the House AND the Senate Democrats had to hard a time convincing their OWN to pass anything; hence the back room wheeling and dealing, it wasn’t the Republicans who blocked legislation.
Maybe you should do your own research instead parroting the lame stream media.
BTW… it isn’t SALT II that was in the 80’s its the START treaty and it gives away defensive capabilities without any strategic benefits to this country, First figure out what treaty your talking about then actually READ the analysis of the treaty…
When are you going to get your own radio show Keith? There’s nobody on the left, that I know about, that can compare with the rights coverage of the airwaves. You have a talent for defining what’s wrong with our country/politics, you need a larger podium though! to get your message out
How come the R’s can say you are a traitor and unamerican if you are against Bush, but the D’s don’t do that?
I wish they would say — If you hate our President you must hate America. This is the office of the Presidency, not just Obama. This is America, Love it or leave it!!!
