Well, since you ask, I’m not! By the way, vote Bernie, all you Americans out there! Don’t let the Media scare ya. He’s no more a Socialist than FDR was, and they’re trying to make us forget about the good he did for the citizens of the USA.
Elections have always been theater here. It’s kinda fun.
It’ll really be fun if Trump gets the GOP nomination, as they really don’t want him as a candidate. They’re trying to at least appear more progressive, and he’s definitely in a position to slide them backward. Restraining him will require spin and media shenanigans the likes of which we’ve never seen.
Hillary will trounce him anyway, so I’m not too worried.
BTW, part of the social contract we hold with the Constitution and the American style of Democracy is that we win some, we lose some. Threatening to leave the country is decidedly un-American and I’m sick of hearing it from people, even though it’s just rhetoric.
Abandoning ship when things don’t go your way is not what we’re about here.
I think a person has the right to settle in the country that suits what they want from life and where they can be happy. Why put up with shit from President Trump, when you can move to Norway, for instance?
It’s got nothing to do with sacrificing others for your own safety. It’s about finding your true home. Matty J, you sound like someone who hasn’t left your parents, yet.
Now now, Matty, Truth Hurts, you should be on the same side, not making cutting comments. Sinclair Lewis looked at this dilemma in his dystopian novel “It Can’t Happen Here,” in which the protagonist is torn between (a) get the hell out of the country, or (b) I’m not going to let that bunch of thugs run me off of the country I love.
I take your point, Tom. But ‘My country, right or wrong’ isn’t the quite the same as ‘My mother, drunk or sober’. You’ve only got the one mother, but it’s a big world out there. What do you say, Keith? You started this!
If you don’t vote for the approved candidate, they’ll just say ‘you’ve wasted your vote’. But you haven’t wasted your vote if everyone else votes for your unapproved candidate, right? Or is this too Pollyanna? In other words, VOTE BERNIE!
I’m a Bernie supporter and not quite anti Republican, but practically there. Yet I do find some of the comics on this page a little offensive. But I guess if a presidential candidate didnt disavow someone (David Duke) who wanted people who looked like me shipped out or worse, I’d be much angrier. I;m a little torn, I mean. Good conversations, though.

Most embarrassing election ever.

Oh, I don’t know. Loyalty? Patriotism? Commitment to an ideal that doesn’t always work out for everyone? Abandoning your friends and family?
You sound like the guy on the Titanic that shoved women and children out of the way to get on a lifeboat instead of helping them board it.

And remember – you’ll be called ‘Hitler’ if you don’t vote for the approved candidate everyone tells you to vote for. Democracy. Now that’s funny.

Nugget is clearly a Cruz man.
