Just like my 4 year old. He once saw some children playing with plastic light sabers and said to his grandmother: “Oma, that’s a light saber – the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”
I knew exactly what was going on as soon as I read the first panel. With any luck, your kid will be able to recall all the dialogue 40+ years later like I can. Did I say luck? I meant obsessive re-reading of the same Peanuts books.
Don’t do it, man. My childhood was *warped* by overexposure to Schulz’s bleak worldview. You can try changing a word or two, but nothing will cover up the gaping existential void that lies at the heart of it all. Stick with Calvin & Hobbes or The Far Side or something.

Mine sez “And now young Skywalker..(pause)…You will die.”
The force is strong with the cute ones!

Check out 3eanuts.com if you’re not persuaded.
I’d recommend the Bloom County collections when they’re ready for history of the 80s and finding out where all this Neo-Con sillyness came from.
I can’t imagine what my kid will start saying soon.
My kids have channeled Calvin & Hobbes several times over the years. Occasionally I’ve had a little Tumbleweeds or B.C. pop out of my mouth.
That Beagle Board in the 3eanuts strip sure looks like an iPad.
It was old Pogo books for me when I was a kid. I’ve just started reading C&H to my 5 year old. He loves it!
