Good idea. Close the prisons, then send the inmates (and their guards) to University. But what do they do when they get out? Join the Army? They can’t all start their own businesses or become academics. Also, they might end up knowing better than the politicians, and that will never do. So, I guess we’re stuck with the justice system and its culture of punishment, rather than rehabilitation. A great comic, Keef. Thought provoking, and not the least bit right wing (I don’t care what Dom says).
keefus! little late on this one. in our prisons-for-profit american society it has long been known that it costs more to keep one guy in prison than it does to send him to college.
sociology class i took in the mid-80s is where i learnt that.
Funny comic tho.
Wow, am I seeing a twinge of the right seeping into your panels?
???
I think Dom’s missing the point.
I think Harvard might make the perp more anti-society (i.e. Wall Street thievery) than NYC jails will!!

What?
No right to appeal?
Think of all the starving lawyers out there….
Then think of the current prison “lifers” that would be the college professors…hmm, perhaps not a bad idea: keeps ’em off the streets.
Oh, here’s one: smoking pot to get into college in the first place {assuming we keep pot illegal in most states}
Brilliant, as always. Thanks for providing prospective, Keith
