This is great, Keith. A truly inspiring tribute to a great man. If only our current leaders would use him as their example, instead preoccupying themselves with doing deals to please their corporate sponsors. I thought that perhaps Obama would now take a leaf out of Mandela’s book, until I saw him larking about taking selfies with his cronies at the funeral.
Israel’s prime minister reportedly declined to attend the memorial to Nelson Mandela in South Africa because of the cost of the trip. More likely it is because Mandela was a staunch supporter of Palestinian independence.
Mandela stated unequivocally, “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.” He also believed, like Bishop Desmond Tutu, that Israel’s treatment of Palestinians was no different from South Africa’s apartheid.
Keith, I just wanted to tell you how much I really enjoy your comics. I first encountered you via The Funny Times, and I tout you to all my humor fan friends whenever I can. Your comics lift me up, make me laugh, and are just witty as hell. And they’re so much funnier because they’re based in truth. Keep on doin’ it man!

R.I.P., Sir. It will probably be a long, long time before a Bright Light of your luminescence is seen again, if ever.
