I gotta agree with Honey. I don’t understand why people are surprised. Football culture fosters savagery and violence against others and then it turns out that players demonstrate savagery and violence against others off the field. Who doesn’t see this coming? I don’t buy the whole, “It’s just a game,” deflection. When you cultivate violence, you become more violent. When you cultivate peace, you grow peace.
His actions are inexcusable. But in our culture that seems to reward ‘extreme celebrities,’ I’m just surprised someone hasn’t offered him his own reality TV show.
