Lynching is back. Only it’s not with a rope, it’s with a gun, and any police officer is allowed to do it, at any time, and for any reason, with neither charges nor repercussions.
The only real difference is that they don’t make postcards of it anymore.
While we are understandably horrified at the tragedy in Ferguson, MO, let’s not overlook the many law enforcement professionals who perform their duties fairly and honestly. I’m also not understanding how violent, destructive protests are a solution to violence and destruction of human life. Didn’t Dr. King say that “nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who yields it” ? Someone please explain to me how the destruction of an innocent shopkeeper’s store solves the problem of police violence toward minorities.

The ongoing black carnage sickens me.
