Great story. Lame teacher (they’re supposed to grade you on how well you write and research, not on appropriateness).
And what’s with the Shel Silverstein thing? People really think he was black?
YES! Oh my god I feel like a celebrity. You have officially made my day…NO…made my LIFE. If I had any idea where Mrs. Daniels (the teacher) and Rudi M (the Shel Silverstein biographer) were, I would send this to them with a post-it note that said “SUCK IT.”
Luckily, life is weird just like this story shows. Imagine how dull it would be without all the human error (ignorance) that allows irony to flourish. I am not a cartoonist but I would take Bush any any over Obama for making cartoons.
On the other hand, as a result of racial prejudice, most of dark africa record has been distorted as well as disregarded to give justification on the enslavement involving hundreds of thousands with regard to fiscal …black history
That’s excellent.
Apparently schools and teachers that value originality and initiative are few and far between.
Well, technically, historic is a euphemism for “dead” – so in that respect, I’m glad she got that wrong.
Liked it when she wrote the letter, liked your artist’s rendering of it.
She gets an A+ in Keefsville, and that will probably serve her better in life anyway.
Awesome. That’s a C to be cherished — it’s worth a dozen A+’s.

That’s absolutely hysterical! Great rendering too.
At least the winner wasn’t, like George Wallace or someone…

If only you could have shown up in person, naked, doing an encore of your show at the Fillmore, maybe then she would have one?
What does she mean kind of hilarious, it was hilarious!

I can die now.

Hey Keef, I just linked you into a discussion about bias in literature. It’s currently focused more on gender bias, but this is a solid example of a particular mechanic of academic bias in general.

All of htis, including Meagan’s comment left me laughing in stitches!
