*The Vegas Valley Book Fest went down last weekend all across the City of Las Vegas and yours truly was an invited guest.  It was the first time I’d been back since doing it about 5 years back when it was still in the nearby city of Henderson Nevada.

The city is behind it now, so it’s grown a lot.  The comics contingent was located at the Clark County  library.  In addition to publishers (like Top Shelf and Slave Labor), there were stores (Alternate Reality), an actor (Felix Silla), a band (Kirby Krackle) and artists.

Plus, they had panels and screened Tron and the Empire Strikes Back.   A lot of good stuff.

I’ve read that L.A.’s food truck craze has spread nationwide–so it was nice to see three trucks sitting outside the Library for some decent eats.

The  self-publishing panel and my slideshow went well.

weirdest moment: When a volunteer came up and said, “I thought you were the guy that did Mother Goose and Grimm..”

2nd weirdest moment: When Silla went off on a political rant about California after I told him I enjoyed his work when I was a young boy.

*JIM MAHFOOD SHOW JUST UP THE STREET!-

Fellow cartoonist and all-around cool cat Jim Mahfood is having a gallery opening around a block and a half from my apartment, this saturday 11/13.   It sounds like it’s gonna be a blow out.  Check it out!!  Details here.

Greetings from K Chronicles Inc.!!  I’m finally blogging after a month of bouncing around the country.  Thanks to everyone who came out in New York, Denver, San Francisco and Las Vegas!  It rained in every city I visited, and poured upon my return to L.A.

I’ll try to remember what happened, but for now I’ll just post CEE-LO’s  delightful video for “Eff You”:

So besides attending the A.P.E. convention this weekend in San Francisco (look for me at table 221), I’ll also be having my official SAN FRANCISCO BOOK RELEASE PARTY for my new book the Knight Life: Chivalry Ain’t Dead, this Saturday night, 8pm, at the Cartoon Art Museum in the City by the Bay.

I’ll be there drawing comix (cuz I’m on deadline), with beer in hand, books and art to sign and sell, and stories to tell.  Other artists sure to be there will be Amy Martin, Stephen Notley, Mike Capazzola and many more.

Beer, wine, munchies, And cartoonists…What more could you want?

the details: Sat. 8pm-11pm, 655 Mission St. near 3rd.  $5-20 donation (it’s a fundraiser for CAM)

Wow..All summer long while the rest of the country was burning up, we here in La-La land were experiencing the mildest summer we’ve had since moving here.  Not anymore.

Thankfully, I’m hitting the road soon.  Check the calendar for details.  I’m looking forward to the real autumn.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Tillman Story..even more so after watching this interview:
