( No Title )
*YES..I’M LATE POSTING AGAIN..BUT FOR GOOD REASON..
THE PNEUMONIA IS BACK!! And it totally sucks. I just spent an hour writing this huge post about Stumptown in Portland, crappy evil race-baiting Republican ads in Tennessee, and some recommendations for California voters. But then I LOST IT through some internet shenanigans. Lame.
So I’ll say it real quick:
*Portland was great. Stumptown, not so much…
*People in Tennessee should vote for Harold Ford Jr.
*Californians should vote NO on Prop 85 and YES on Prop 87
(Below is a breakdown of the Props by my official Nor-Cal fan-boy Dave S.
PROPOSITION 85: The Dead Teenager Act?!?!??! AGAIN?!?!?!?!
NO NO NO NO NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!! What is it with you? You ran the same stinking bill last November! You think I’m stupid? You think I can’t remember? You think I’m a ditto-head? Ooo, dat puddy tat, he never give up! I HEREBY STUFF THE PEOPLE WHO PUT THIS ON THE BALLOT AGAIN INTO MY OFFICAL CAN OF NUTS!
Stop it, Sylvester! Making it illegal for a teen girl to get a legal abortion without parental notification almost sounds logical. Until you think about it for more than a nanosecond. If you raise your daughter well, and love her unconditionally, she will know that she can come to you if she makes a mistake (even a really big one). But there are homes where she will get thrown out into the streets, or beaten, or beaten and tossed, or killed, or killed and tossed, if she made that same mistake. Teens who have a good home life don’t need this kind of protection. Teens who haven’t don’t need this invitation to a grimy back alley to get reamed out with a rusty coat hanger. KNOCK IT OFF!!!
PROPOSITION 87: Charge Oil-Drilling Fees, Like They Do Everywhere Else
YES. Chevron is pumping millions into ads against this. It’s not like we are asking oil companies to pay fees they don’t already pay (even in Texas). Chevron, you have had it way too easy way too long in this supposedly liberal state!
Sure, it might not be perfect. No money goes to education, for example. Some goes onto alternative energy programs where some money will go to good use, other money will go to waste. (Ethanol is not the greatest car fuel in the world; see a recent Consumer Reports.) But first we gotta get the money into the pot. Money we are owed. No more Chevron stiffies! (Heh heh, he said stiffie again, heh heh heh! Stiffies are cool!)
Cheers!
