HOLY SH–!! I’VE BEEN RIPPED OFF!!
Well..it was bound to happen. Everyone always said I should put out a Life’s Little Victories book.
I was all alone in a dark room googling myself when this came up. I’m flattered by Life’s Little Miseries, and violated by 1000 Awesome Things. Where’s my check?
I wouldn’t get too torqued about the “Life’s Little Miseries”–the guy only has three posts since 2010! But the “1000 Awesome Things”–yeah, totally. Send the Copyright Cops over to pepper spray him!
I LIKE the little miseries person. They’re on my side!
This stinks, and I am sorry, though I suspect his is more Chicken Soup than Knight. No comparison, Little Vics is inspired joy with brilliant pics. I think a Little Vics daily tear off type calendar would be great, but without dates so I could give it to people any time of year. A victory a day!
I dunno, I’ve been doing a comic about “one good thing” for the last couple months, and even as a long-time reader of your comics I don’t really see much of a similarity there. My reason for starting my comics is the same as the reason for Rachel Smith’s “one good thing” comic, and sounds like the same reason as why the “book of awesome” guy started his collections: just trying to cope with depression and a loss of control in one’s life.
Trying to take that positive influence away from someone because of a superficial similarity to your own long-running work seems like it’s kind of missing the point, not to mention a little bit selfish.
I think it’s mostly unfair that the “Life’s Little Miseries” guy made it sound like this other guy was specifically ripping you off – if you’d only come across The Book of Awesome on your own, would you have felt the same way about it?
