Today’s memorial at Staples was really, really well done. Especially considering how little time they had to put it together. Props to the Jacksons and the city of Los Angeles.

Even though I was watching it in the sanctity of my own apartment, Staples is one bus ride down Venice from where we’re at. I felt the vibe.

-I think Al Sharpton rocked it when he said to Mikey’s kids, “I want his children to know there was nothing strange about your daddy, it was strange what your daddy had to deal with”.

-The Magic Johnson/Bucket of KFC story was cool too.

-And Berry Gordy.

-And Brooke Shields .

-And his daughter Paris.

I think everything that pointed to Jackson actually being human was what touched me the most.
